2024
Congratulations to Susan Colson, PGS board member and docent at the Percy Grainger Home & Studio, for receiving a a William G. Pomeroy Foundation scholarship to attend the Museum Association of New York's annual conference. “Giving Voice to Value” in Albany, New York, April 6-9.
Curt Ebersole, long-time PGS member and docent at the Percy Grainger Home & Studio, has collaborated with the the West Point Band for two performances near White Plains. Curt is also the Conductor and Music Director (John P. Paynter Memorial Chair) of the Westchester Symphonic Winds and arranged for a performance by several members of the West Point Band at the Percy Grainger Home & Studio in September, 2023. The two performances, including Percy Grainger's Spoon River, will be held Marchs 9 and March 16. More information here.
The Tri-County Symphonic Band, based in Massachusetts, will be performing an all-Grainger program on March 17, 2024 at 3 pm. His masterwork, LIncolnshire Posy will be performed as well as Molly on the Shore and Irish Tune form County Derry. Tickets can be found here.

Congratulations to Dana Paul Perna, Grainger Society member and Recording Secretary Emeritus, on the fifth anniversary of his podcasts with Moog 1 Radio. Dana always manages to do a musical tribute to Percy Grainger on Grainger's July 8 birthday.
Teresa Balough, Grainger Society member and frequent contributor to The Grainger Journal, has written a new biography, The Life and Work of Percy Aldridge Grainger: Till Life Become Fire, available from Cambridge Scholars Publishing. On June 13, 2020, Interlochen Public Radio, featured a selection by Percy Grainger, noting Grainger's time as a teacher at Interlochen.

Congratulations to the National Wind Band of Israel (ages 15–18) for performing its summer 2019 concert in the renowned Jerusalem Theatre, the Henry Crown Concert Hall, under the baton of Samuel Gal Alterovich, conductor. Here is their beautiful performance of Irish Tune from County Derry and Shepherd's Hey . Let us hope that more live performances can take place as COVID allows.
