Every year, the Percy Grainger Home and Studio invites the local community to 7 Cromwell Place to see how the Graingers lived. From the music room to the bedrooms and beyond, the house comes alive with the Grainger Family and how each member of the family made the space their own.
On Sunday, April 16, Dr. Paul Cohen, saxophone, Anna Keiserman, piano, and a few friends, will present two identical saxophone concerts. The first concert will include a house tour before and the second concert will have the house tour after the performance. Dr. Cohen is a noted Percy Grainger expert and visited 7 Cromwell Place in the years when Ella Grainger (1889-1979) was still in residence.
The concert, "Grainger and his Contemporaries", will include works of Grainger as well as music of Leo Ornstein, Alec Wilder, and Elie Siegmeister, all like-minded composers and musicians.
The first concert at 2 PM (Eastern US time) will be broadcast on Facebook Live on the Percy Grainger Home & Studio Facebook page.
While there is no admission for this community event, limited space requires reservations. Donations, either at the event, or here, are welcome, and will help support future programming!
