We look forward to celebrating the Percy Grainger Society’s 2023-24 programmatic year during the Annual Members’ Meeting on July 12 at 4 pm Eastern US Time. From the installation of the Free Music Exhibition at the Percy Grainger Home & Studio in White Plains, NY, to the enriching series of Grainger Reimagined lectures, the past year has been filled with activity and growth for the Percy Grainger Society. As always, we are grateful for your ongoing support and engagement, and we hope you will join us.
Our agenda includes the announcement of new programs and initiatives for 2024-25, presentations of members’ activities, and a discussion of opportunities to participate with the Society. Additionally, we will welcome our special guest, Professor Andrew Hugill, who will give an update on the new Grainger Library of Sampled Sound project. More information about the new GLOSS project is available here.

|
|
We are pleased to announce that Percy Grainger Society President, Dr. Paul Jackson, will be leading the next Third Sundays tour of the Percy Grainger Home and Studio on September 15, 2024 at 2 pm EST. The tour will focus on the rapport between Grainger and leading composers of his time, highlighting shared musical influences and the development of compositions resulting from the collegial relationships between Grainger and his contemporaries.
The event is part of the ongoing series, Third Sundays. It is free and open to the public. Due to space limitations, registration is encouraged.
The Percy Grainger Home & Studio’s (PGH&S) Third Sundays series is an outreach initiative designed to welcome diverse groups through focused, thematic tours. Led by volunteers, the tours are part education, part interpretation, and a fun, informative alternative to the traditional historic house tour. Additional information on Third Sundays is available here.
